2the409, founded by artist Joleen Rose, is a creative hub in homage to her family home. Offering makeup, skincare, dance, community events, and more, 2the409 brings together years of experience in multiple industries. Currently operating across different facilities, Joleen’s goal is to create a dedicated studio space for personalized and small group services and gatherings, where clients can experience a more intimate, focused connection.

Joleen Rose: Dancing Through Life with Faith, Art, and a Love for Community
Joleen Rose is a passionate artist and community leader whose journey weaves together dance, beauty, and faith. Beginning her love affair with dance at the tender age of 5, Joleen initially explored ballet before finding her true rhythm in street dance styles. Her passion for movement grew both inside and outside the classroom, shaping her into the multifaceted artist she is today.

Faced with the challenge of finding a space for her art after high school, Joleen reinvented herself time and again. From working traditional 9-to-5 jobs to pursuing nonprofit dance projects, she sought not just a career but a calling.
​
In 2012, Joleen founded IDEM Dance, which later became a nonprofit organization called Defining Movement in 2015. Its mission was to cultivate the arts community by equipping artists with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to take their next step. Joleen built programs and events rooted in the belief that artists don’t fail because of a lack of talent, but because of a lack of resources and support. After many years of impact, Defining Movement closed as Joleen transitioned her efforts into new ventures that continue to carry forward its heart and mission.

Through her business, 2the409, Joleen brings all of her passions under one creative hub. From Guidance Kids, which introduces young dancers to movement and creativity, to Break Roots, which focuses on breaking and Hip-Hop culture, and her work in beauty and skincare through Skin Belief, 2the409 serves as a home for programs, services, and events that nurture both artistry and community. This multifaceted hub reflects Joleen’s vision of creating a space where people of all ages can grow, connect, and be inspired.
Beyond her personal achievements, Joleen is committed to giving back. She envisions creating a studio space to house all of her programs and projects, providing a central hub where her community-focused initiatives can thrive.
